Dungeon Crossword

I cobbled together a Crossword Puzzle as the Floor for a Dungeon in my D&D game. The idea being that the players would enter, the dungeon would have a series of doors, and they’d be given out of game prompts, and solving a prompt would tip them off to whatever is behind any given door. This didn’t actually get used because my group rebelled as I’d already pestered them with enough creative homebrew unfortunately, but if it aids another Dungeon Master, take a look. I think since crossword puzzles look suspiciously like corridors in dungeons, it makes a lot of sense for players that also do well with puzzles. My players, not so much on the puzzles.

Here are the prompts:

ACROSS
1. A song by the B52s.
2. Using this prevents enemies from making attacks of opportunity against you for the rest of your turn, but does take your action for the round.
3. Pianos have these and they can also be made of small pieces of metal.
4. D&D Class that doesn’t let you increase your core stats at any point.
5. Generic God of Good.
6. A Battle Fastener (this is a pun).
DOWN
1. This.
2. The Best Level 3 Spell.
3. When the party camps, always rearrange the tarp properly.
4. The school of magic for Magic Missile.
5. Another term for wealth.
6. Where there’s a ___, there’s a way.
7. A bright orange gourd that ushers in a wave of seasonal evil.

If you want the answers feel free to message me, but chances are you can figure out most of these really fast, as they’re designed for 4th wall breaking players who’ve had a few drinks on any given evening. I’ll give you #6 across however, since my sense of humor doesn’t always mesh. A “Battle Fastener” is a “war” “lock” (warlock). Get it? No? Okay, that’s fine.
