Kinlock Falls is a very impressive fall that’s decently tall but mostly stands out for the width. Located within the Bankhead National Forest, this one was fairly easy to find because the parking for Kinlock Falls is on the side of the same named Kinlock Road. You really can’t screw that up, since Kinlock Road is a fairly big road in the forest and the target area is near an impressive bend in the road that also has water flowing under it that ends up being part of the flow into the falls. Even better, this waterfall does not require any sort of real hiking. It’s a park your car, wander down to a little overlook, or wade into the creek there for different kinds of views of Kinlock Falls. Where am I going with this rambling? Basically some of my adventures in the Bankhead have felt like wild goose chases just to find a trailhead, whereas this just isn’t possible for even me to screw up.
Anyway the waterfall is pretty, this makes a great place to picnic in, and you don’t have to budget much time since it isn’t a hiking scenario.
