Lowry Falls is located in the bounds of the Cherokee National Forest and near Delano, TN. The trail is Cherokee National Forest Trail #168. The best nearby parking to get on the trail is at the Taylor Island Picnic Area or randomly in the shoulder of the road nearby. The waterfall here is really just some undefined cascades you’ll find at the top of this very short trail. Round trip might be half a mile, and you’ll know you’re at the fall when the trail just kind of disappears and you’re looking at some cascades. As sketchy as this sounds, it doesn’t take long to scope out if you’re in the area anyway and it was worthy of having an official forest service trail to it, so keep that in mind. I’m including a picture of a forest map taken at the nearby Hiwassee Picnic Area that shows the location of Lowry Falls, which you can compare to several other landmarks on the map such as Quinn Springs Campground, Ozwald Dome Trail, Gee Creek State Park (aka Hiwassee / Ocoee River State Park), and if you look VERY closely by the Lowry Falls Trail marker you’ll spot “Taylors Island” which is about where you need to park. I’d rate the fall as underwhelming, but falls vary depending on rain, and some of us (me) just seem to have to do them all anyway.
