Phenix City Waterfall

Phenix City Waterfall

Phenix City Waterfall is located in Lakewood Park, in Phenix City, AL.  As someone who enjoys hunting down waterfalls, this one kind of has an ironic place in my mind.  I’ve driven through Phenix City, AL so many times in the last few years because it is on one of the routes I have to take from where I live to get to the kind of places I like to go, plus it has a Del Taco, which I adore.  So after traveling through Phenix many times on my adventures to find waterfalls elsewhere, I finally notice on a map that there’s supposedly a waterfall in the town!  Sure, it’s a man made dam style fall, but between the fact that I’m frequently right next to it and love waterfalls, it had to happen.

You’ll come across Lakewood Park and want to park pretty close to the little police substation or whatever it is.  Behind that is a depression where Holland Creek flows away from the waterfall.  Wander down there and you’ll be treated to an old crumbling dam that has formed many little waterfalls over time in the cracks.  This looks like a place where people probably come splash around in the summer and the larger park is your typical seeming city park with some walking areas and sports fields.

Address:  4306 Park Dr, Phenix City, AL 36867

FYI:  If little waterfalls like this are your thing, then consider a day trip south from Phenix City to visit Odom Creek Falls and Coheelee Creek Falls.
