The Sinks is a waterfall of sorts along the Little River, viewable roadside via stopping in a little pull out area with a viewing platform within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The history of The Sinks is simply that it was a sharp turn in the Little River that loggers needed to be able to use, so they used dynamite to shape it, and the result is now a really pretty falls. You can’t get down to the base, you’d likely die if you did, but you get a good view from the observation platform regardless and you can’t miss This Sinks as you drive into or out of the park. If you’re heading East on Little River Gorge Road you’ll encounter The Sinks not long after stumbling across Meigs Falls, one of the other roadside attractions.
