Camp Helen State Park is located at 23937 Panama City Beach Parkway, Panama City Beach, Florida 32413. This state park features some semi historic buildings to explore, a large building that can be rented for weddings and other events, excellent gulf side scenery, overnight facilities you can rent, a short beach adjacent nature trail hike, potential kayaking options on adjoining Lake Powell (a large salty lake created by water coming over the dunes from the Gulf), and even a little museum. If you’re exploring parks and coming from the Panama City area consider weaving this into a day trip in tandem with Eden Gardens State Park and you will probably have plenty of time to do both as they are not far apart.
Tip: The hike here is probably less than a mile long, so it isn’t going to be a huge adventure in itself, although it is pretty. But if you have a kayak, paddle board or rowboat, this park is for you since the lake is very still and great to paddle around in.
